- 150 grams Smoked trout
- 150 grams cream cheese
- 1 tsp Horseradish (from a jar)
- salt
- peppers
- ½ tsp Lemon peel (very fine)
- ¼ red paprika
- 2 bunches Chives
- 20 Basil (or other herbal or lime leaves)
Preparation steps
1.
Rinse chives, set aside some stalks for garnish and cut rest of chives into small rings.

Rinse pepper and chop very finely. Chop half of lemon zest finely and mix with chopped pepper, cream cheese and horseradish until creamy.
3.
Break up smoked trout, remove bones and pluck fish meat into small pieces or cut. Stir trout pieces into cheese cream stir and season with salt and pepper.
4.
With moistened hands, form mixture into 20 small balls and roll in chopped chives.
5.
Set balls in basil leaves and sprinkle with remaining zest. Garnish with chives to serve.
