1 cup unsalted butter
½ cup caster sugar
2 tsps vanilla extract
2 large egg yolks

Preparation steps

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Grease a large baking tray.

Sift the flour into a bowl and rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
3.
Stir in the remaining ingredients and mix to a dough.
4.
Roll out the dough 2.5 cm| 1" thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut into star shapes and place on the baking tray.
5.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until pale golden and cooked through. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
