Cevapcici with Vegetable Sauce

- 3 garlic cloves
- 500 grams Ground beef
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 ½ tsps sweet ground paprika
- ½ tsp hot ground paprika
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- Bell pepper (per 1/2 small red, green and yellow)
- 3 shallots
- 750 grams Tomatoes
- 3 Tbsps olive oil
Preparation steps
Peel and press 2 garlic cloves and mix with the ground beef in a bowl. Mix with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon water, two types of peppers and season with salt and pepper and knead until mixture is smooth. With wet hands shape into 16 small rolls, each approximately 8 cm (3 inches) long.
Rinse peppers, trim, cut in half, remove seeds, remove white membranes and cut into a very small dice. Finely chop the shallots and remaining garlic. Blanch the tomatoes, peel and cut into small cubes.
Saute the shallots in 2 tablespoons hot oil in a saucepan over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add pepper and garlic and sauté 2 minutes. Add tomatoes and simmer for 20 minutes while stirring. Season with salt and pepper.
Sprinkle a pan with a little oil and saute the Cevapcici 10 minutes. Serve with the pepper and tomato sauce.
