1 ¼ kilograms kassel Roasted meat roll (oven-ready prepared)

3 Tbsps vegetable oil (to fry)
2 carrots
1 onion
1 tsp freshly chopped thyme
1 bay leaf
½ tsp Caraway
250 milliliters dry white wine
250 milliliters Beef broth

Preparation steps

Season the beef top rounds with salt and pepper, and rub. Heat the oil in a roasting pan and brown the beef in it all around.

Peel the carrots and onion, and cut both into cubes. Add the carrots and onion to the beef and fry shortly. Add the thyme, bay leaf and caraway seeds, pour the white wine and beef broth, and season with a little salt. Cover the roasting pan and bake in a preheated oven in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan: 180°C, gas mark 3) (approximately 400°F) for about 1 hour. Baste the beef with the roasting pan juices occasionally.

Serve the finished braised beef with the vegetables. Serve as desired with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
