- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 grams shallots
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- salt

- 150 milliliters olive oil
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Preparation steps

Combine tomatoes with 100 ml (approximately 2/5 cup) of water in a saucepan and heat up. Peel garlic and shallots. Chop shallots finely and slice garlic, add to tomato sauce. Add bay leaves and cinnamon stick, season with salt and pepper and add 100 ml (approximately 2/5 cup) of olive oil.

Simmer sauce, covered, for about 30 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. Add remaining olive oil and season with lemon juice and 1 pinch of sugar. Pour hot sauce into prepared preserving jar and seal well. Refrigerate and use within 1 week.
