- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup Golden syrup
- 3 Tbsps sugar
- ½ cup self-rising flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tsps ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground mixed spice
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda

1 Bowl, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Whisk, 1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Peeler, 1 Box grater, 1 Small bowl, 1 Non-stick pan, 1 Slotted spatula
Preparation steps

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 large baking trays with non-stick baking paper.

Put the butter, syrup and sugar in a pan and heat until just melted, stirring until blended. Remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.

Sift in in the flour, salt, spices and bicarbonate of soda and stir until smooth.
4.
Place small spoonfuls, well apart on the baking trays and bake for about 10 minutes until golden and cracked on top. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
