- ½ cup sugar
- 1 ¼ cups Yogurt
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ¾ cup Semolina
- 3 Tbsps flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- candied Lemon peel (for garnish)
- For the syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Preparation steps
1.
Preheat oven to 350º F / 175º C. Grease an 8x8 inch pan.

Beat eggs and sugar until well incorporated. Add yogurt, vanilla and oil and mix
3.
Add semolina, flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; mix until combined.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
5.
For the syrup, boil sugar and water for 3 minutes. Add lemon juice and boil for another 3 minutes. Let syrup cool completely. Pour the cold syrup over the warm cake. Chill cake before serving and garnish with lemon rind.
