- 1 ½ tsps Dried yeast
- ⅓ cup warm milk
- 2 ⅔ cups flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 unwaxed lemon (zest grated)
- ground Cardamom
- ground cinnamon
- ⅔ cup soft butter

Preparation steps
1.
Dissolve yeast in the milk and stir in the flour, sugar and a pinch of salt. Add the eggs, lemon zest, cardamom, cinnamon and the butter and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for around 45 min until it has doubled in size.
2.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160°C in a fan oven), 350°F, gas 4 and grease 12 star-shaped pandoro moulds and dust with flour.
3.
Re-knead the dough, split into 12 pieces and shape into balls. Transfer to the moulds, pressing the dough into to fit and leave to rise for another 15 min.

Place the moulds on a baking tray and bake for around 30 min until golden brown.
5.
Remove the cakes from the moulds and leave to cool on a wire rack. Serve dusted with icing sugar.
