- 4 egg whites
- 1 pinch salt
- 6 ozs sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- For decoration
- 4 Tbsps powdered sugar
- lemon juice
- Licorice

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 210°F.

For the ghosts: Whip the egg whites with salt until foamy and gradually sprinkle in the sugar and vanilla sugar. Beat until the mixture is glossy and stiff. Spoon into a piping bag with a large round tip.

Pipe 15-20 ghosts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in preheated oven and allow to dry for about 4 hours, leaving the oven door slightly ajar. The ghosts should not be dark, so possibly reduce the temperature to 175°F and allow a little longer to dry. Allow to cool in the open oven.

For decoration: Stir the powdered sugar and lemon juice into a thick paste. Cut licorice strips and dots for eyes, mouths, etc. Use the frosting to adhere the licorice and allow to dry.
