- ⅓ cup Corn starch
- 1 ⅛ cups sugar
- 8 egg yolks
- 1 ¾ ozs semi-sweet chocolate (cooking)
- Frosting
- 5 ozs semi-sweet chocolate (cooking)
- ⅓ cup cream (30%)

1 Toaster, 1 Fine grater, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Bowl, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Fork, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Paper towel, 1 Brush, 1 große flache ofenfeste baking dish
Preparation steps

Whisk half of the egg whites until stiff. Fold half of the ground almonds and the sugar into the egg whites, a little at a time. Line a springform pan with parchment paper and pour the batter into the pan. Bake in a preheated fan oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15 - 20 minutes. Repeat this process for the second base.

Melt the butter slowly in a bowl over a pan of hot water (not too hot!). Stir in the sugar, cornstarch and egg yolks, then let cool slightly. Chop the chocolate and melt in a bowl over a pan of hot water. Let cool slightly. Stir the chocolate into the butter cream and mix until soft and creamy. Spoon about 1/3 of the chocolate cream onto the almond base. Place the second base on the top. Spoon the rest of the chocolate cream over the top.

For the frosting, chop the cooking chocolate and melt together with the cream in a bowl over a pan of hot water. Let cool, then stir until creamy and spread over the chocolate almond cake.
