- ¾ cup honey
- ⅓ cup butter (at room temperature)
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 3 ⅕ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsps baking soda
- ½ cup almonds (peeled and chopped)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground allspice
- ¼ tsp ground Cardamom
- ½ cup Candied cherry (finely chopped)
- To Decorate
- 15 Candied cherry (cut in half)
- ½ cup slivered almonds

Preparation steps
1.
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, bring honey, butter and sugar to a boil. Stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, almonds, spices and chopped cherries. Mix in honey mixture, knead dough until smooth. Cover dough with plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour or overnight.

Position oven rack to the middle of the oven. Preheat oven to 350º F. Line a baking sheet with baking parchment paper.

On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the chilled dough 1/4-inch thick. Cut out 2-inch rounds. Top with candied cherry half and sprinkle with almond slivers. Bake on prepared baking sheet for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Serve.
