- For the cupcakes
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsps Baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ cup butter (scant)
- ½ cup light brown sugar (scant)
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup plain Yogurt
- ⅓ cup Maple syrup
- For the maple buttercream
- ½ cup butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ⅜ cup Maple syrup
- To garnish
- 12 pcs cooked Bacon

Preparation steps
1.
For the cupcakes: heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Place paper cases in a 12 hole bun tin.
2.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Set aside.
3.
Beat together the butter and sugarin a mixing bowl until light.
4.
Beat in one egg, followed by half the dry ingredients, mixing well before adding the second egg and the remaining dry ingredients.
5.
Beat in the yoghurt and maple syrup until smooth.
6.
Spoon into the paper cases and bake for about 20 minutes until golden and cooked through. Place on a wire rack to cool completely.
7.
For the maple buttercream: beat the butter until very soft. Sift in the icing sugar and beat well.
8.
Beat in the maple syrup until smooth.
9.
Spread on top of the cakes and garnish with cooked bacon pieces
