- ¼ cup Yeast (or 5 g dried yeast)
- 2 ⅓ cups white Bread flour
- ½ tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 5 Tbsps olive oil

Preparation steps

Dissolve the yeast in approx. 175 ml lukewarm water. Mix the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add the yeast solution and 4 tbsp oil and knead the mixture to a smooth dough using the dough hooks on a hand mixer. If necessary, vary the amount of flour slightly. Cover and leave in a warm place for about 20 minutes to rise.

Heat the oven to 220°C (200°C in a fan oven), 425°F, gas 7 and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.

Form the dough into a long loaf and place on the baking tray. Brush the dough with the remaining oil and bake in the oven for around 40 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a cooling rack.
