- 1 cup butter (scant)
- ½ cup sugar (scant)
- Almond extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour (more if needed)
- 30 whole almonds
- 30 Candied cherry

Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
2.
Mix together the butter, sugar, butter and almond extract to form a dough. Add a little more flour if the dough is too soft.
3.
Divide the dough into 30 small balls and place on the baking trays.
4.
Flatten slightly and place an almond and a cherry on each one.
5.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
