Preparation steps
1.
Place the fruits, brown sugar, cinnamon, orange juice, zest and lemon juice in a pan and stir over a medium heat for about 15 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid has been absorbed by the fruit. Set aside to cool completely. Stir in the almonds.
2.
Heat the oven to 400°F. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
3.
Sprinkle the sugar on a work surface and place the pastry on top.
4.
Roll out the pastry into a large rectangle, about 11" x 14".
5.
Spread the fruit mixture in an even layer over the dough. Starting at the long ends of the rectangle, loosely roll each side inward until they meet in the middle. Brush the pastry with beaten egg, to hold the pastry together.
6.
Slice the pastry crosswise.. Arrange on the baking trays about 2 1/2" apart and chill for 15 minutes.
7.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, turning after 8 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Place on a wire rack and serve warm or at room temperature.
