Preparation steps

Preheat oven to 350º F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. In a separate bowl beat eggs; add liqueur and extracts and beat to combine. Gradually add egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until dough is stiff. Do not over mix. Knead in the the chopped dates and chopped almonds.

Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Shape dough into two rectangles 3 inches wide, and about 15 inches long. Place on prepared baking sheet and gently press down to flatten slightly. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool biscotti on a wire rack until cool enough to handle.

Using a sharp serrated knife, slice crosswise into 3/4-inch slices. Arrange on baking sheet, sliced side down, and continue baking for an additional 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or until the biscotti slices are lightly toasted.

Cool slices on a wire rack. Serve.

May be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
