American Style Pizza
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 450 grams pizza dough mix (Frozen and thawed, or fresh)
- 225 grams Italian sausage or sausage (raw)
- 1 onion
- ½ green Bell pepper
- 1 garlic clove
- 120 milliliters Pizza Sauce (canned)
- 120 grams grated Mozzarella (or diced)
- 55 grams grated Parmesan
- 2 Plum tomato
- Basil (for garnish)
Preheat the oven to 250°C (approximately 480°F). Brush a pizza pan with oil.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface and line the prepared pan. Form a small crust around the edge. Prick the dough several times with a fork. Brush with olive oil and prebake for about 10 minutes in a preheated oven.
For the topping, squeeze the sausage from the casing and brown in a pan in about 1-2 tablespoons of hot oil. Peel the onions and cut into strips. Rinse and clean the pepper and cut into strips. Peel the garlic and chop finely. Add the vegetables to the meat and saute. Drain the meat and vegetables on paper towels.
Remove the dough from the pan and spread the pizza sauce on the dough. Sprinkle with the grated mozzarella and parmesan. Rinse the tomatoes, remove the stalks and cut the tomatoes into slices. Spread the toppings on the pizza and bake for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the pan and serve garnished with basil.
