Preparation steps

Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water, then remove. Peel and coarsely chop.

Finely chop the basil, and simmer with the all the other ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly for 10-15 minutes. Divide into jars while still hot, seal well, and cool completely.
