9 stalks green Asparagus

6 slices tramezzino
3 ½ ozs Crème fraiche
7 ozs grated Cheese (such as Emmentaler)

Preparation steps

1.

Peel the bottom third of the asparagus and cook the asparagus in salted water for about 8 minutes until almost done. Drain, rinse with cold water and drain again. Cut the asparagus into halves crosswise.

Cut each sandwich bread slice crosswise and spread the crème fraîche over it. Sprinkle with about 2/3rd of the grated cheese and top with one piece of asparagus. Roll the bread slices and press the edges well. Place the bread rolls with the seam down on a baking tray lined with baking paper and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C / 425°F until crispy and golden brown, about 10 minutes.

Remove the rolls from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Serve warm or cool.
