¾ cup Semolina
½ tsp Cardamom powder
2 cups milk
¼ cup sugar
1 pinch Saffron
1 ¾ ozs shelled Nut (e. g. almonds, hazelnuts)

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the ghee in a broad-based pan. Add the semolina and fry over a low heat until golden brown. Remove the pan from the heat.
2.
Stir the cardamom, milk and sugar into the semolina. Stir over a low heat until the mixture does not stick to the pan. Mix in the saffron and nuts.
3.
Rinse a small loaf tin with cold water and line with clingfilm. Spoon the semolina mixture into the tin and chill for at least 3 hours.
4.
Turn the halwa out of the tin and peel off the clingfilm. Cut into slices to serve.
