2 garlic cloves
2 Tomatoes
50 grams Bacon
400 grams waxy, small potatoes
vegetable oil (to fry)
2 Tbsps Tomato paste
200 milliliters dark beer (alternatively, non-alcoholic)
1 Tbsp ground paprika
1 tsp Caraway
1 bay leaf
600 milliliters Beef broth
salt

Preparation steps

Rinse the meat, pat dry and cut into cubes. Peel the onions and the garlic and finely dice both. Rinse the tomatoes, cut out the stalks and cut the flesh into cubes. Cut the bacon into cubes. Rinse the potatoes thoroughly. Brown the meat in portions in hot oil briefly and take out of the pan.

Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan drippings and sauté the bacon, onions and garlic briefly. Add the tomato paste and sauté. Then deglaze with the beer. Add the paprika. tomato, cumin, bay leaf and the meat in the pot. Pour in the broth so that the meat is barely covered, season with salt and pepper. Half cover and simmer for about 1 hour 20 minutes.

Stir occasionally and pour in the remaining broth as needed. Add the potatoes and cook the whole stew for about 40 minutes. Serve as desired with dark beer.
