Ingredients

For the tomato sauce
4 Tbsps olive oil
1 small onion (finely diced)
2 garlic cloves (chopped finely)
2 cups canned Tomatoes
1 ¼ cups tomato passata
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
salt
peppers
To serve
6 cups Spaghetti (cooked according to package instructions)
freshly grated Parmesan
fresh Basil

Preparation steps

1.
For the tomato sauce: Heat olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic sauté until the onions have softened.
2.
Add the chopped tomatoes, passata and vinegar. Bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer and season with salt and pepper. Allow to cook for 20 minutes.
3.
Serve with cooked spaghetti and top with Parmesan cheese.
