4 Steak such as ribeyes, about 200 g & 2-3 cm thick (approximately 7 ounces & 3/4 inch thick)
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
salt
freshly ground peppers
1 Tbsp butter

Preparation steps

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. 

2.

Heat the vegetable oil in a cast-iron skillet and sear the steaks on each side for about 1 minute. Reduce the heat to medium, season wth steaks with salt and pepper and cook for another minute on each side. Reduce the heat to low, add the butter to the pan and continue cooking the steaks until the desired level of doneness is reached. Remove from the pan, top with herb butter, if desired, and serve.
