1 chicken (cut into 6-8 pieces)
2 ¼ cups Yogurt
1 garlic clove (crushed)
1 ¼ inches fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
4 Tbsps Lime juice
2 Tbsps sesame oil
2 tsps Chili powder
1 tsp Turmeric
2 tsps paprika
1 tsp ground Cumin
1 tsp ground cilantro
2 Tbsps slivered almonds

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the oven to 180C (160C fan) 375F, gas 5.
2.
Score the chicken wings across the top and lay all the meat in a flat dish.
3.
Mix the yogurt with the garlic, ginger, lime juice, sesame oil, chilli, turmeric, paprika, cumin and coriander. Season well with salt and pepper and pour over the chicken. Cover and allow the chicken to marinade for at least 6 hours in the refrigerator.

Removed the chicken from the dish and place in an oven-proof dish. Reserve the excess marinade.
5.
Cook the chicken for 35-40 minutes in the middle of the hot oven, basting occasionally.
6.
Just before serving, heat the remaining marinade on a low heat. Add a little water to achieve the desired consistency and season with salt.
7.
Serve the chicken on plates with the sauce and sprinkle with the slivered almonds.
