1 cup unsalted butter
1 large egg
1 ½ Tbsps finely grated Orange zest
1 Tbsp Orange juice
¾ cup powdered sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
¼ tsp salt
For the glaze
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp Orange juice
1 cup chopped almonds
5 ozs plain Dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids, melted)

Preparation steps

1.
Beat the butter, egg, zest and orange juice in a mixing bowl until smooth.

Beat in the icing sugar, flour and salt until blended. Cover and chill for 2 hours.

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
4.
Form 1 rounded teaspoon of dough into a 7cm|3" log, then bend into a crescent. Place apart on the baking trays. Repeat with the remaining dough.
5.
Bake for 9-10 minutes until light golden. Cool on the trays for 5 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
6.
For the glaze: whisk together the icing sugar and orange juice until smooth.
7.
Drizzle the glaze on the crescents and sprinkle with almonds. Leave to set
8.
Drizzle the chocolate on top, as in the photo and leave to set.
