Preparation steps
1.
Cook the spaghetti in plenty of boiling, salted water until al dente.
2.
Heat the oil in a large deep frying pan and slowly fry the bacon over a low heat until crisp. Remove from the pan.
3.
Whisk the eggs with the cream, salt and pepper. Stir in half the Parmesan and the chives.
4.
Gently cook the garlic in the bacon fat. Drain the spaghetti well and immediately add to the frying pan. Toss in the bacon fat, then remove the pan from the heat.
5.
Pour in the egg and cream mixture and quickly mix with the hot pasta. Scatter with the diced bacon and season with plenty of freshly ground pepper. Garnish with basil and the remaining Parmesan.
