Through the stimulating effect of mint our whole circulation is stimulated. Responsible for this is menthol, which also has a cooling effect. Mint stimulates the production of bile acid, so it is not surprising that it helps us digest fatty foods better.

Depending on taste, you can round off the sauce with a little lemon juice. Typically, lamb is eaten with the English mint sauce. Try our marinated filet of lamb back. But the sauce also goes well with other meat dishes such as roast beef, mutton or meatballs.

2 Tbsps White vinegar

Preparation steps

Rinse and dry the mint. Remove the leaves and finely chop. Bring the sugar, vinegar, and 50 ml (approximately 2 ounces) of water to a boil. Cook until the sugar has dissolved. Mix with the mint, and season with a pinch of salt.

Puree with an immersion blender, transfer to a bowl, and let cool. Garnish with a sprig of mint, and serve.
