Preparation steps
1.
Cook pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente and drain, reserving 1 cup cooking liquid. Drain pasta well.
2.
Trim bell peppers, remove seeds and cut into strips.
3.
Peel onion and cut lengthwise into narrow strips.
4.
Sauté bell peppers and onion in a pan with hot olive oil until al dente. Season with balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.
5.
Mix pasta with the vegetables. If necessary, deglaze pan with some of the reserved cooking liquid. Transfer to plates and serve sprinkled with basil leaves
