Preparation steps

Rinse the plums. Add to a saucepan with the sugar and 300 ml (approximately 10 ounces) of water, and bring to a boil. Add the rum, coarsely chopped ginger, bay leaf, cloves, and allspice. Cook for 15 minutes.
2.
Add the plum mixture into the prepared, rinsed jars and seal tightly. Turn upside down to cool slightly for 15 minutes. Turn right side up and cool completely.
