- 3 cups canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
- ⅔ cup water
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 red chili pepper (seeded and chopped)
- 2 Tbsps Tahini
- 1 tsp ground Cumin
- 2 Tbsps lemon juice
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- flat-leaf parsley (finely chopped)
- sliced white bread (to serve)
- salt
- freshly ground Black pepper
Preparation steps
1.
Combine the chickpeas with the water, garlic, chilli, tahini, cumin, lemon juice, and smoked paprika in a food processor.
2.
Blitz until smooth, adding the olive oil once the mixture starts to break up and become smooth.
3.
Continue to blitz until smooth, seasoning to taste with salt and pepper.
4.
Spoon into a serving bowl and garnish with the chopped parsley. Serve with slices of bread.
