Spicy Chai Tea

- 1 pc fresh ginger (about 15 grams)
- 1 tsp black Tea (loose leaves)
- 1 Cardamom
- 1 cloves
- 1 pinch black peppers
- 1 pinch Anise seed
- 1 small Cinnamon stick
- ½ cup
- liquid Sweetener (to taste)
- 1 Star anise
Peel and finely grate ginger root (or chop very finely).
In a pot, combine tea leaves, cardamom, clove, a pinch each of pepper and anise, cinnamon stick and 150 ml (approximately 2/3 cup) water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer over low heat until flavor develops, about 3 minutes.
Add milk and simmer 3-4 minutes more. Pour through a tea strainer into a cup or mug. Add sweetener to taste and garnish with star anise.
