½ Multigrain baguette (or multigrain or pumpkin seed rolls)
8 pickled garlic cloves
1 Pearl onion
3 sprigs thyme
250 grams Camembert
2 Tbsps butter

Preparation steps

1.

Trim onions, remove the root ends and pull off the peels. Drain the garlic cloves and halve lengthwise. Melt the butter in a small pan and fry the onion with the garlic until soft.

Slice baguette diagonally into 8-12 slices.

Cut Camembert into the same number of disks as baguette slices. Place the cheese on the bread slices, top with the onion and garlic, rinse the thyme, shake dry, pluck into small pieces and sprinkle over the bread.

Place the bread pieces side-by-side on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, season with salt and pepper and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) until the cheese is melted, 10-15 minutes.

5.

Arrange the bread on a wooden board and serve with wine, if desired.

6.

This dish pairs well wiht sweet and sour pickled pumpkin.
