- 1 cup White bean
- 6 cups white Cabbage (sliced)
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- 1 ⅓ cups floury potatoes (peeled and diced)
- 5 cups Meat stock
- 1 bay leaf
- 7 ozs smoked Bacon
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- Chili powder

Preparation steps
1.
Soften the beans in water overnight.
2.
Fry the cabbage in hot oil for a few minutes. Add the garlic and potatoes and cover with the stock. Add the beans, bay leaf and the bacon. Simmer for around 50 minutes stirring occasionally.
3.
Remove the bacon from the soup, remove the rind and dice. Transfer to soup plates. Remove the bay leaf, season the soup with salt, lemon juice and chilli and pour into the bowls. Serve with white bread
