1 onion (thinly sliced)
3 boneless, skinless Chicken breasts (halves)
For Sauce
1 cup Ketchup
2 Tbsps apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsps Molasses
1 Tbsp grainy Mustard
freshly ground Black pepper (to taste)
1 tsp Onion powder
1 pinch ground Cumin
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp Tabasco sauce
salt (to taste)
In addition
Lettuce (rinsed and dried)
4 gourmet Sesame burger bun (split and toasted or grilled)

Preparation steps

1.
Line the bottom of the crock pot with sliced onions.
2.
Rinse the chicken under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels. Trim any excess fat from the chicken and place on top of the bed of onions.
3.
Mix all of the sauce ingredients together and pour on top of the chicken covering completely.
4.
Cook for 6 hours or longer on low setting. The sauce thickens during the slow cooking process. Once the chicken is falling apart tender, take two forks and shred the chicken.
5.
Serve with lettuce on top of toasted split buns.
