- 3 ½ ozs Dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids)
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (scant)
- 2 Tbsps cocoa powder
- 2 cups roughly chopped Hazelnuts (or macadamia nuts)
- To decorate
- 16 dried Cranberry
- powdered sugar

1 Skillet, 1 Bowl, 1 Small bowl, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Whisk, 1 Slotted spatula, 1 Salad spinner
Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Butter a 23cm|9" square tin and line the base with non-stick baking paper.

Melt the chocolate and butter in a large heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering (not boiling) water. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar, vanilla and eggs. Beat well until smooth.
3.
Sift in the flour and cocoa and stir until blended, then stir in the nuts.
4.
Put into the tin, level the surface and bake for about 15 minutes, until just firm to the touch. Cool in the tin.
5.
Cut into pieces and decorate each piece with a cranberry. Sift over a little icing sugar.
