Preparation steps

For the dough, chop the chocolate. Beat the butter and turbinado sugar until creamy. Stir in the egg, chocolate pieces, vanilla seeds, baking powder, gingerbread spices, sugar, hazelnuts, flour and 1 tablespoon of water.

Use a teaspoon to heap small portions of the dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes at 175°C (approximately 350°F).

Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

To decorate, mix the powdered sugar with little water into a thick icing. Pour the icing into a pastry bag and splash on the cookies. Serve sprinkled with sugar.
