- 2 slices white bread (day-old)
- 2 onions
- 2 Tbsps parsley
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 500 grams Ground lamb
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp ground paprika (sweet)
- ¼ tsp Ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground cumin
- ¼ tsp Ground clove
- ½ tsp thyme
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- clarified butter (for cooking)
- 300 grams Yogurt (0.1% fat)
- 16 Skewers
Preparation steps
1.
Soak bread in water. Peel onions and chop finely. Heat butter in a pan and saute onions until translucent. Squeeze bread. Add bread, onions, egg and parsley to ground lamb, mix well. Season with spices and knead well.
2.
Shape mixture into 16 small elongated patties. Heat oil (or lard) in a pan and cook patties, few at a time, for about 10 minutes or until golden brown on all sides. Thread on skewers and serve hot with yogurt.
