2 small chicken (approx. 1 kg each)
cup vegetable oil
Chili powder
2 Eggplant (cut into 1 cm slices lengthways)

Preparation steps

1.
Cut the chickens open along the backbone, fold open and press flat. Fix them in a flat double-grate grill basket for ease of turning. Season the oil with salt, ground black pepper and chilli and brush over the chickens.

Grill on the barbecue (ideally with indirect heat), turning regularly, for around 30 minutes. Brush regularly with the oil.
3.
Brush the aubergines with the flavoured oil. Cook on the barbecue for around 10 minutes on each side.
4.
Take everything off the barbecue. Cut the chicken in half along the breastbone and serve with the aubergines and with a salad, if desired.
