Ingredients

600 grams Tomatoes
2 onions
1 garlic clove
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dried, italieneische Fresh herbs (chopped)

200 grams Sour cream
100 grams Emmentaler cheese (grated, can substitute Gruyere)

Preparation steps

Scald the tomatoes in boiling water, then peel and finely chop. Peel and finely dice the onions and garlic. Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the diced onions and garlic mixture. Add tomatoes, about 50-100 ml (approximately 2-4 ounces) water, and the herbs. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. Season with sugar, salt and pepper.

Cook the gnocchi in plenty of salted boiling water according to package directions. Drain well, and mix with the sauce and season again to taste. Pour into small ramekins. Mix together the sour cream and freshly grated cheese, spread evenly on top of pasta and bake at 200°C (approximately 400°F) until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve immediately.
