- 28 ozs canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (chopped)
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 2 tsps ground Cumin
- 2 tsps ground cilantro
- 1 handful fresh cilantro (leaves chopped)
- 1 tsp Harissa (or chili powder)
- 4 Tbsps plain flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 7 Tbsps Sesame seeds
- 4 Tbsps sunflower oil
- To garnish
- Basil

Product recommendation
Variation: use mint or parsley instead of chopped coriander for a different flavour.
Preparation steps
1.
Put all the ingredients except the sesame seeds and oil into a food processor or blender and blend until fairly smooth. Shape into 8 patties with your hands.
2.
Sprinkle the sesame seeds onto a plate and roll the patties in the sesame seeds to coat.
3.
Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the patties, then fry for 3 minutes on each side until lightly golden.
4.
Drain on absorbent kitchen paper and serve garnished with basil.
