Dried-Fruit Salad

- 2 dried Plum (pitted)
- 2 dried Apricot
- ½ Orange
- 1 Star anise
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp Rose water
- 1 large Pear
- 11 ozs Buttermilk
Cut dried plums and apricots into strips.
Squeeze 1/4 cup juice from the orange.
Combine plums and apricots in a pan with star anise, cinnamon, orange juice and rose water. Bring to a boil, then cook until liquid is reduced by half, about 2 minutes. Allow to cool in pan, then remove star anise.
Meanwhile, rinse and dry pear, cut into quarters, remove seeds and cut pear into finely chop pear.
Stir pear into cooled dried-fruit mixture and place in a bowl.
Whisk buttermilk until creamy, pour over fruit salad and serve.
