- 2 ripe muskmelons
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 generous pinch Chili powder
- 800 milliliters Chicken broth
- salt
- Tabasco sauce

Preparation steps
1.
Cut melons in half, remove seeds, remove melon pulp and cut melon into small pieces. Reserve chopped melon as desired for garnish.
2.
Mix sugar with 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan. Over low heat, cook sugar until caramelized and light brown. Add melon and season with chili powder. Add broth and boil 5 minutes. Simmer and puree soup. If necessary, add a little hot water and season well with salt and a few drops of Tabasco.
3.
Chill soup. To serve, fill a preheated plate or soup bowl with chilled soup and garnish with reserved melon.
