Coriander seeds with their tart-sweet aroma have a cleansing effect. They help eliminate toxins and act as a natural antibiotic. The ingredients from cloves have a relaxing effect on bloating, flatulence and abdominal cramps.

In order to develop their aroma optimally, it is recommended to buy Christmas spices such as cloves and cardamom as whole fruits or seeds, because already processed into powder, they lose their seasoning power with longer storage time. Tip: Grind directly before processing. Then the essential oils are released when they are needed.

Preparation steps

1.

Roast coriander, cardamom and cloves in a hot pan without fat over medium heat for 3 minutes until fragrant. Let cool for 5 minutes; then grind finely in a spice grinder or mortar.

2.

Meanwhile, finely grate couverture and mix with flour and hazelnuts. Beat butter with sugar and spice mixture until creamy. Add egg and beat in. Add flour mixture and knead everything into a smooth dough. Cover and chill for 1 hour.

3.

Remove small portions of the dough with a teaspoon, shape into balls, flatten slightly and roll the top in the cocoa chips.

4.

Place the rounds on a baking tray lined with baking paper (cocoa side up) and bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C / 320 °F for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
