Ingredients
Apple Skewers with Almond Caramel Drizzle
Chop almonds with a large knife.
Squeeze the lemon half.
Rinse apples, wipe dry, cut in half and cut out the cores with a small knife. Cut each apple half into 3 thick slices.
Immediately sprinkle with the lemon juice and put on 2 long wooden skewers.
Roast almonds in a non-stick pan. Add butter and honey, cook until caramelized and stir in 2 tablespoons water.
Add apple skewers to the pan and fry each side for about 1 1/2 minutes. Place skewers on a platter, pour over the almond caramel and serve.

If you are preparing the snack for a group of children, you can color the skewers and use mixed fruit. Apart from apples, diced pineapple and mango, pitted cherries and strawberries are also delicious.
