Preparation steps

Rinse the apples and cut into quarters, remove the cores and cut into chunks. Place in a large saucepan and mash with a masher. Add 0.5 liters (approximately 2 cups) of water, bring to a boil and let simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes. Strain the cooked apples through a juicing cloth into a pot.

Mix the juice with the sugar, bring to a boil again, skim off any foam and stir in the pickling mix. While still hot, fill bottles and close tightly. Store in a cool, dark place.
