- ⅕ l lukewarm milk
- 1 cube Yeast

- 250 grams Quark
- ½ tsp Cardamom (ground)
- ½ tsp cinnamon (ground)
- ¼ tsp Mace

Preparation steps
Cut the dried fruit into small cubes and mix with raisins, almonds and honey, then baste with half of the milk. Cover and soak for about 1 hour.
Dissolve the yeast in the remaining milk. Add flour, egg, butter, quark and spices and knead into a dough. Cover and leave at room temperature for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 190°C (approximately 375°F).
Work the fruit mixture into the dough and knead vigorously. Then form the dough into a stollen, put stollen on a baking paper-lined baking sheet and leave again to rise for 30 minutes.
Bake stollen in the oven for 30 minutes, then turn down the temperature to 160°C (approximately 320°F) and bake for another 30 minutes. After baking but while still hot, brush stollen with a little melted butter. To serve, dust stollen with a thick layer of powdered sugar.
