gluten-free whole-grain flour (plus extra for dusting)
¼ ounce
quick-rising active dry yeast
1 teaspoon

warm water
2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon

Preparation steps

Mix the flour, yeast and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir in the water, oil and sugar, to form a soft dough.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.

Shape into a round and put onto a greased baking tray. Cover with oiled cling film and leave in a warm place for 40-60 minutes until doubled in size.

Heat the oven to 200°C (180° fan) 400°F gas 6.

Make several slashes across the top of the loaf with a sharp knife, then bake for 30-35 minutes, until the loaf is risen and golden. Tap the base of the bread to check it is cooked. It should sound hollow. Place on a wire rack to cool.
