White Wine Pears
Cut lemon into slices and bring to a boil with the white wine, sugar, vanilla syrup and cinnamon stick. Let simmer gently for 10 minutes. Peel pears, halve lengthwise and remove the cores. Remove cinnamon stick and lemon slices from the wine. Put the pears in a pot.
Pour over the wine, cover and let simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat. Let cool in cooking liquid. Serve on a plate with some sauce and garnish with cinnamon sticks.
