Walnut Cake with Oranges
Preheat the oven to 160°C (approximately 325°F) convection.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, then stir in the eggs and orange juice. Mix together ground walnuts, chopped walnuts, flour and baking powder and stir into the butter mixture. Pour batter into greased pan. Cut peel off of the orange, removing white pith, then cut orange flesh into thin slices and place over the batter, slightly overlapping the slices. Bake 70 minutes. Let cake let cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Then remove cake from the pan and place on a cooling rack. Brush with jam while still warm. Slice and serve.
