Preparation steps

1.

For the waffles: Separate the eggs. Whip the egg whites and salt until stiff. Whisk the egg yolks with the flour, cinnamon, cream, buttermilk, sugar and baking powder until smooth and set aside for about 20 minutes.

For the chocolate sauce: Melt the chocolate-hazelnut spread and chocolate over a hot water bath. Whisk in the milk and spices. Set aside.

Fold the the egg whites into the batter. Cook 2-3 tablespoonfuls in a hot, buttered waffle iron until golden brown. Keep warm in a preheated oven at 80°C (approximately 175°F). 

4.

Serve with the spiced chocolate sauce.
